Senior HVAC Engineer

We’re expanding our engineering team and looking for a Senior HVAC Engineer to take technical ownership of HVAC and ventilation design for district heating plants of tomorrow. You will ensure that the design solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Experience with fire extinguishing and fire protection systems is a strong advantage as well as your ability to support utility system design. The role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design of HVAC and ventilation systems for industrial facilities (process areas, electrical rooms, control rooms)
  • Perform heat load calculations, ventilation sizing, and equipment selection
  • Develop technical specifications, datasheets, and design reports
  • Review layouts, duct routing, access/maintainability, and installation requirements
  • Coordinate HVAC interfaces with fire safety requirements (fire/smoke dampers, shutdown logic, purge modes, pressurization concepts)
  • Support fire protection design activities when needed (system concepts, design reviews, vendor coordination)
  • Contribute to utility system design discussions (e.g., cooling water, chilled water, hot water/steam, compressed air) together with the process engineering team
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and safety workshops (HAZID/HAZOP where relevant)

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in HVAC, process engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial HVAC engineering and ventilation design
  • Proven capability to take ownership of design packages and lead technical delivery
  • Strong understanding of industrial ventilation, zoning/pressurization, and reliability requirements
  • Experience in nuclear projects or other highly regulated industries (e.g., energy, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals) is highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluent in English
